yay!

I was going to have to do a bunch of driving today and go to a mandatory settlement conference, but stan’s schedule worked out and I don’t have to! whee!

Now I get to sit in the office and get work done. I don’t really mind that.

So yesterday I did one of the craziest things I’ve ever done in my life. I was on the 110 North (HUGE 7 lane freeway) creeping along.

- I was in the leftmost lane on the bottom of the freeway when.. I saw.. a kitten.

Hunched up against the guardrail on the inside of the freeway. Mewling. Trembling. I immediately (don’t know why) pulled over to the left, put on my four ways, and hopped out of the car. I crept back to her and tried to seem unscary, but she ran in, towards the poles. I could have hopped the guardrail but I was scared. I figured I might spook her into traffic too. So I got back in my car, drove over a hubcap that made a scary crunch, and then somehow eased my way back onto the freeway.

All I can remember is the cars moving by in the dark and the wind kicking up.

I couldn’t save the kitten, but I at least know I tried.
