Posting from work

Not sure why, except its lunch and it’s been a while since I posted. The “new” job is going well. I’m comfortable and learning – practically a new thing every day. I’m mostly caught up and no longer getting those pangs of “How pathetic is my life” when I look at the rotary (don’t ask) microwave at work, the fridge full of pickled artichoke hearts here, and the broken, filthy bookcases. I now just accept we’re poor as law firms go and in time I will attempt to throw out the pickled artichokes.

I was kinda pissed today that he called his wife to have her tell me to clean the office before the depo got here. It was really unfair — I’m not a maid. I think he should invest in having a regular cleaning service or he needs to get his wife to actually clean this place regularly, not just when she feels like it. And we need a handyperson around here. Things are broken, heavy, need to be trashed, doors need to be shortened, etc. There’s never a shortage of stuff we need to do.

On the other hand, I’m not really appreciated for the stuff I do now, why take on more?

I stabbed myself in the arm with a gardenia-type white flower out in front of my office.

Jarrod and I are holding up. We’re eating in a lot, not incredibly healthy but we are working on it. Convenience and affordability are trumping health right now. I’ve been in pain, my hips are bothering me regularly, so walking has been hard.

Jarrod & I have a new nephew. His sister had a baby, and he’s handsome. I feel envious we’re so behind in babyness, but I dont really want one right now.
