Yes, my blog is broken

Posted by Keiri on July 7th, 2005 filed in Uncategorized

I know something is wrong with it but I don’t know how (or rather Jarrod doesn’t know how) to fix it yet. I took the password protection off because Mark Heath (of Spot the Frog fame) inquired about it and I realized I really don’t give a flying mongoose patty what my ex-job thinks of me or knows about me now. They probably don’t think about me enough to look me up anyway, which I’m glad about.

Got a call from Fernando today. He was very sweetly checking up on me. I told him I was ill, but otherwise holding up.

I’m making efforts to extricate myself from my rut. I looked into a laundry service too, which I think I will invest in for once just to get this clothing problem under control. With my hips bothering me I can’t walk up and down three flights of stairs with heavy loads of laundry.

We got the fridge replaced today, which is a HUGE help. Jarrod promised to take me to get my car taken care of this weekend (wash & recall notice).

They are teeny tiny first steps, but I will get out of this hole. I was handling the job loss, I was handling all my other problems, but this pain is so out of control…

Your blog is dumping < div style="clear:both; padding-bottom: 0.25em;" >< / div > at the end of the posts. (I put in some spaces so it wouldn’t eat your code here too.)

The small steps aren’t much by themselves, but they will get things rolling. And I think that once you get rolling, you are a hard person to stop. :) Besides, it will be nice to just have the laundry done. I find that I am a lot happier and less stressed when my living space is clean and organized.

I’m going to have to disagree with Kit. The problem is the DIV tag at the beginning of your posts, not the end. Removing the following tag from the beginning of each of your posts fixed the problem for me.

    <div style=”clear:both;”></div>

The best part of all of it is that none of it is part of the template and it is being inserted by blogger itself.

I don’t know why, but in their infinite wisdom, they add those 2 div tags to the post automatically.

There’s a support e-mail on the way and hopefully someone can explain wtf is going on.

You did much more testing than I did. I just looked for something that just looked out of place. My HTML knowledge is well past shelf life now, unfortunately…

Blogger has posted a fix. And it’s Kiri-friendly, if she wanted to try it herself. Flip one switch on the dashboard and everything will be fine again. :)

Living space clean and organized Andy? That’s a dream I have yet to live myself – and I have no excuses either. Get the service K, used to use one and everything was always so soft and un-crinkled…

Okay, just because I said that I am a lot happier and less stressed when my living space is clean and organized doesn’t mean that it ever happens. But when the balance swings away from chaos and towards order, I become less annoyed when I am at home.

Two weekends ago I cleaned the bathroom and kitchen. I stripped the bathroom down to the walls and fixtures, hosed it down in chemicals, scrubbed everything down, rinsed it, and reassembled the bathroom. I even put a bleach cake in the toilet. Then I went to the kitchen, did all the dishes, wiped everything down, and mopped the floors in both rooms. (Okay, the kitchen table is still covered in clutter, but that’s kind of my dining room so it doesn’t count.)

I wouldn’t say that my living space is clean and organized because my bedroom and living room look like a tornado hit them. But I breathe a sigh of relief every time I go into the bathroom or kitchen now.

    Small steps.
