Boo
Posted by Keiri on April 10th, 2005 filed in UncategorizedMy very much loved childhood pet (had him since I was 11) passed away yesterday.
His name was Boots, but we always called him Boo.
Boo was a sweet animal. He always said hello when you entered a room, but he’d only say it once. He was a lapkitty, a snuggler. He would let you carry him around on your shoulder like a baby and never complained, he’d purr the whole time.
He could sing, and would do it when I sang.
He was 16 years old and had cancer. Nobody knew it. Mom found him bleeding to death in his fleece kitty cup. There was no helping him, he was unsaveable. So they put him down, as he laid there barely moving. I think it was for the best as he was in pain. He had trouble walking for the last year or so.
I moved out of my house when I was 18- and he was 7. I went to college, tried to visit a lot, but I’m sure over time he forgot me. But he still snuggled with me when I came home, said hello, and insisted his paw be on the top of any hand-sandwich.
He loved olives. He would lick them dry
All I can say is.. he was very loved, and I miss him already.

He was a beautiful kitty and I’m so sorry. There’s nothing worse than losing a member of your family like that. Pets aren’t just pets, they’re our companions and our friends. They offer the most unconditional love. The only thing that makes it slightly easier to let them go is knowing that they knew how loved they were and to remember them at the peak of their lives. *hugs*

We lost 2 family cats this past year: an 18 year old and a 21 year old (no kidding). It was hard for me, especially the 18 year old which I had known from a kitten. But we remember the good times…
My deepest sympathies.
