Bad Weekend

Jarrod and I kinda had a bad weekend. He got some minor bad news about a possible opportunity that fell through. I’ll leave it at that. And then I got worse news.
I don’t feel like I can go into much detail until the week is over and I know the test results, but two people in my close family unit are possibly dealing with the scariest illness out there. They both are being tested this week for cancer. The timing was just freaky.

I spent the weekend cleaning. I find that when I’m upset or anxious nothing tends to relax me better than cleaning the whole damn apartment. I caught up on a ton of mud stuff too.

Jarrod and I got home from errands to find a notice saying they are raising our rent. We are under rent stabilization but they can still raise it a certain percentage. Our rent is going up to.. hold your breath.. $1850 a month. That includes 2 bedrooms, 2 parking spaces, and our utilities, however. Then Jarrod did our taxes and found out we have to pay IN $1000. I couldn’t believe it. Especially after I gave Andy such a hard time about his having to pay in. Sorry, Andy.

Well, so the weekend just was sooo wonderful. Then our freezer broke and we had to throw out a lot of meat, an expense we just LOVED to spend. We had to buy non-perishable food in order to cover our eating needs until we get it fixed.

I’m finally 90% over my cold but I have a persistent and painful sinus headache. Aleve cold and sinus makes it go away for about 6 hours but then it comes back, and aleve is a 12 hour medicine. I’m grumpy.
