Taking a Hint

Today I noticed they put up the Christmas decorations at work. There is a row of stockings on one wall. Peter, the owner, has a large stocking in the middle flanked with many smaller stockings for every employee with their names puffy glued on.

Every employee, that is, except me.

I mentioned it to Fernando. He had noticed it, and said he was very close to emailing the “decorator” as to her “oversight” before I had brought it up (hoping to catch her before I noticed it.)

We both decided it wasn’t worth it. Point made, damage done.

For those of you to say — well, but you’re leaving at the end of the year — so are two others on that wall. All I can do is smile, shake my head and consider not giving them their two weeks.
