updaaaaaaaate
Posted by Keiri on May 13th, 2004 filed in UncategorizedSo Friday I had a mediation, which ended in full agreement by all parties. Jarrod picked me up at work and we drove to Las Vegas after eating a traditional Mexican lunch with my boss. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay. We had a great time – we don’t spend a lot while we’re there. Instead we eat out and well, other stuff
. I’m pretty sure jarrod’s mom reads this some times so i’m going to leave out some of the more lurid details.
We ate at Ah Sin, a delicious restaurant in Paris, Las Vegas — actually it’s where we ate after we got married (literally, right after.) We also ate at the Burger Bar, a place that sells Kobe beef burgers – you could get a burger for $70 if you really wanted foie gras, kobe beef and black truffles. I’ll pass.
What else — well, we took lots of pictures and those will be forthcoming. On the way back I insisted we stop at Calico, a little ghost mining town off the 15 between Baker and Barstow. It was a BLAST! They had a hootenanny going on, so there was live bluegrass music, shootouts, and contests being run. I bought a few things, we got funnelcakes and bad sunburns. I was in the candle shop when I noticed a peacock – fully spread – in the backyard. I asked the lady what his name is, and she said “Bob or Henry, depending on who you ask.” We went outside to take pics of him and ran into someone else, and she said his name was Bubba. THat’s my favorite name, so I prefer to refer to him as Bubba the peacock now.
So it was nice, it got me away from my troubles.
When we came back we were both beat. Too much sun? Too much fun? Who knows — but I am still suffering from exhaustion. Tuesday F and I sat at work until 7 30 pm making calls to everyone on the list of clients, we got caught up. I had Wednesday off and saw two doctors, and found out my hearing loss was simply TMJ. He gave me a nasal spray and told me I could get a mouth guard, which I’ll probably do now. At least it is not in my head, and at least it’s nothing serious.
Watching my old episodes of Judging Amy today.. they had a great song at the end….
“Slow Down”
All of my answers and all my reasons
And all my excuses they never asked
Cause all of my answers they keep on changing
I spend my life waiting for the next…
No, I just keep on moving
No, I just keep on pushing forward
No, I forgot what I was looking for
And all their illusions, I won’t believe them
I’ll always believe what I can’t forget
Cause all of their reasons, they keep on changing
I spend my life waiting for the next…
No, I just keep on moving
No, I just keep on pushing forward
No, I forgot what I was looking for
I’d trade wisdom back in for innocence
To get away from all my lies
I’d trade wisdom back in for innocence
To get away from getting by
I’d trade wisdom back in for innocence
Just for one look through those eyes

Hi,
I was googling “Judgin Amy” and “I’d trade wisdom for innocence” because I wanted to know who wrote that song and if I could find it for my music collection and I got your website. Could you tell the writer of that song? I really want to buy a copy for my collection.
Thanks,
Erika
